Certified EKG Technician (CET) National Healthcareer Association Certification (NHA). The EKG Technician is part of the Fast Track Healthcare Bundle, which includes CMA and Phlebotomy Tech, and is also offered as a stand-alone class. Students interested in taking EKG Technician as a stand-alone class must have a previous medical background (i.e. RN, LPN, CNA, PA).
As an EKG Technician you may perform some or all of the following tasks: Set up and administer EKGs (electrocardiograms) and stress tests. Prepare patients for Holter or ambulatory monitoring. Edit and deliver final test results to physicians for analysis. schedule appointments, and transcribe physicians’ interpretations.
