Through lecture, demonstration, and hands-on photography, award-winning photographer Shirley Whitenack will teach this workshop that will empower you to take control of your camera and unleash your creativity. Class will reinforce the technical aspects of photography as well as provide techniques to improve the artistic elements of your photography. Learn when and why to shoot in the various camera modes and how to use exposure compensation. On-location shooting will provide opportunities to fully utilize directional light, learn how and when to add flash outdoors, use photo reflectors, and exploit depth of field. You will learn to incorporate the rule of thirds, use power points and leading lines, a
s well as control depth of field to create effective and dramatic compositions.
Throughout the class we will analyze histograms and review/critique photographs. Class wrap-up will include a discussion of printing options, organizing and archiving images, photo resources, and follow-up questions. Each participant will receive photography handouts to keep for future reference.
